  • Meet Rosa

Beautiful Rosa named “The Pink Lady”.

Rosa has a very sad story.  She was spotted in the middle of road next to a forest and at first the gentleman that spotted her wondered what on earth it was in front of him. Burned skin from the sun, bright pink in colour, she was hardly able to walk or move. Rosa had a broken leg, was covered in so many ticks that our rescuer was lost for words. She was immediately taken to the vet for an infusion and treatment for parasites.  She was skin and bone weighing just 12kg.

Rosa is now safe in a pension.  Her skin is healing and she is recovering extremely well in general. Her leg was operated on and is now absolutely fine and X-rays can be supplied to any future adopter.

Rosa is an English Pointer but small for her breed type.

Rosa is described as a true gem.  She is unassuming and calm.  Our trustees recently met Rosa on their trip in October 2023 and found her to be a beautiful and happy little lady!

Rosa is happy in the company of other dogs in the pension. She is currently not tested around cats or children.

Rosa is fully vaccinated and will be spayed before travelling to the UK.

Rosa is currently under treatment for heartworm. She will be able to travel to the UK after two negative heartworm control tests have been achieved and a scan to check no lasting damage. Heartworm is fairly common in Serbia and many dogs/cats recover in full if caught early enough and dogs/cats can lead full and normal lives. Heartworm is not generally well known in the UK but there are plenty of articles online and a useful video within the video library on our website here https://www.balkanunderdogs.org.uk/video-library.

All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
