Meet Bumbar
Bumbar was born in May 2023 in a village in Serbia. Her mum is a black pticar-type dog used for bird hunting who we have named Lepa.
Bumbar means Bumblebee (she looked like one when she was born). Sadly Lepa’s owner was going to drown the puppies when they were born but Lepa hid them out of reach behind an old tractor equipment and he couldn't get them. So Bumbar is a lucky puppy and in a lot of cultures bumblebees symbolise good luck and prosperity!
Bumbar was kept on a short chain 24/7 by her owner from about three months, but he agreed to let her rescuer take her for walks. So we have tried our best to socialise and exercise her as much as possible during her first year of life so she's well adjusted.
She likes people, has never shown any aggression, and did very well during her first visit to the vet a couple of weeks ago. She has grown up around other dogs, chickens, sheep, cows, pigs and is friendly with everyone. However, she’s not currently cat tested but can be if required.
Bumbar is extremely friendly and loving, not aggressive at all but does have food guarding/aggression towards other dogs. She loves sprinting round in circles while other dogs chase her and loves chasing balls - although has not yet learned to fetch. Her owner no longer wants her and has threatened to dump her so we need to find her a forever home.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
